I ask this question because i find that a lot of people go out there without any goal and they hope to achieve them. if you are one then i pity. Someone rightly said that we find people without goals and hope reach them. now if don't have goals, how far can you go? We need goals if we really want to become successful in anything we do.
My favourite author, Brian Tracy says that "goals are fuel in the furnace of achievement. How true he is. if you really want to get something done, you need to se it and helps you to do just that if you want to be great then you must learn to set goals.
Having seen the importance of goals how then do we go about it? In setting goals the following must be borne in our mind. One there must be a picture in our mind. We see exactly what we want else there will be confusing. You see alot of people actually set goals but they don't really know what they want and so they get there. Our goals therefore must be precise and clear. We must be passionate about our goals it must come from within you must have it as somethng you really want to do. Have you ever set target on what don't like? How did you go about achieving it? if you ever did it was boring to you eh. You get what I am talking about. lastly I will say that you must write the these goals down. Writing down your goals concretizes it. When you write your goals down it is registered in mind and I tell you you've done over half of the job. You've not made it so far because you did not set goals. So start today set goals and see what you'll be in the next six months.
I'll forget to tell you your goals should be SMART. What i mean is S-Simple, M-Measurable( you must be able to measure it) A-Achievable, R-Realistic T-Time frame. After setting your goal, it must pass this five tests else you hav no goal.
